Real Vampires, In A Really Good Story. (I.E.: No baseball or angst.)

Vampire books have been around a lot longer than people think. Before anyone ever heard of twinkly Pacific Northwest vampires playing baseball... really?... there was The League:

The League is a series of books set in the Ichidian Universe, where the government relies on ruthless assassins to keep order. Book One (Born Of Night) introduced that world, and now book two, Born Of Fire, keeps the story going.

The author, Sherrilyn Kenyon, knows a thing or two about good writing and great stories: Just ask the 19,000,000 people who have bought her books so far, making her "the reigning queen of the paranormal genre."

How good is Born of Fire? Amazingly good: see for yourself by reading the excerpt that's available for free. After I read that, I wanted to go back and re-read the first book, and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book (which is coming out November 3).

If you're like me, counting down those last 48 hours until it's on the stands, why not enter the Born of Fire sweepstakes to win a free copy of the book? Click that link for details.

Sherrilyn Kenyon has been number one on the NYT best seller list for longer than most vampires have existed, and Born of Fire is going to keep her there.
