Puzzle Pieces... Middle (What the H?)

Closer to Finishing the Puzzle…

Finally!! Things are falling into place for me. About a month ago I wrote about some of the troubles that I have been having. Common issues that young adults face today like; working long hours and having to work two jobs in order to pay bills as well as work to start paying off some of their student loans. I graduated last may with a Small Business Management degree and since then I have been working hard to make sure that I am able to pay, not only, for my necessary bills, like rent, phone, car, insurance and a couple others. And now since I graduated I am now having to pay back my student loan payments and since I did not have a job yet in my field so I had to get a second job in order to pay that bill off so I was working 60-65 hours a week. I was exhausted.

But now things are starting to fall into place.

I was at work yesterday and I was on hour 12 of 14 of my third long day in a row and I receive a phone call and my phone did not recognize the number so I answered the phone call. It was the manager from a local diner in Middleton. I didn’t know how the phone call was going to turn out. It could go one of two ways. We are interested in having you interview for the position that you applied for a couple days ago or we have already filled the position but we will keep your application on file until something opens up.

The phone call went in the right direction. He said that my application impressed him and caught his eye and he was wondering if I would be interested in scheduling an interview in the very near future. I, of course, said yes and the interview was set for the next morning which was this morning (Thursday March 1) I jumped and laughed and screamed a little when I got off the phone because it felt like this could be my big break and something that I have been waiting for.

On my way home I had to stop so I could get a nice pair of pants or a skirt for my interview the next morning as well as some nice low interview black heels. I found both and went home to get a nice night of sleep considering the last three days I had worked 42 hours! I woke up this morning feel sort of refreshed but still a little tired but I was up and ready to conquer this interview. I was nervous though, I will not lie about that. I got into the shower and got dressed. I double, triple and quadruple checked to make sure that I looked hire worthy. When I decided that I was I left for my interview.

When I got to the interview I was even more nervous but then when I walked into the door and met the manager my nerves were gone and the rest was bliss…

I was hired within forty minutes of meeting the manager. I was ecstatic. I drove to my job after that and called my mother to tell her all about it. The rest of the day I was smiling and knowing that this new position could mean the next chapter of my life. But the best part of all of this was before I left the diner to head to my job the manager gave me a free piece of cherry pie (My Favorite).

Here is Mr Bunches at his first-ever dental appointment.

They counted his teeth. He has 20.

Mr F voluntarily went into the McDonald's playland.

Which for him is a big deal. I didn't have to encourage him or anything. He just went on in, and sat, and then, after a moment, appeared to realize what he was doing and skedaddled on back out.

But it was a courageous thing, while it lasted.
