OK I'm back.

For those of you who were wondering... what? NOBODY was wondering? A fine lot of
friends
acquaintances
readers
total strangers who clicked the wrong link by accident and now their computer has frozen sticking them here until they reboot

you have turned out to be! I could've been dead for all you know and nobody even WORRIED about me?

Anyway, I wasn't dead -- for all you know -- but I did have to undergo face surgery, because it had been several years since any doctors had cut into me, and the medical establishment cannot allow that to happen.  What happened was I was supposed to have about an hourlong procedure last week to fix my sinuses, but it turned into a four-hour deal that day because apparently I have complicated sinuses, and while ordinarily I rush right back into my normal life and start working (ha!), blogging, etc., right away, given that my face hurt a lot for a few days I decided I would take the entire weekend off and simply watch TV, read a few books, and try to determine if the doctor was just being mean when he told me to sleep sitting upright. (Answer: yes, that's impossible, don't try it.)

But I'm back now and while I'm going to just abandon the A To Z thing because April is almost over and I don't want to sully my new, pristine sinus passages by clinging desperately to what used to be, I'll be posting new stuff regularly, so make sure you promise yourself to check it out before getting distracted by that "sideboob" slideshow on TMZ and clicking off to that other link.

Well.... I am sorry that your surgery turned from a Little Deal to a Big One, but I am glad you are back and feeling okay.

It wasn't really bad for me; I was out the whole time. Poor Sweetie had to wait three+ extra hours without any idea what was going on.

Her exact quote, which shows just how much we trust the medical establishment:

"I thought you had died and nobody told me."

Yick. Face surgery...sinus surgery... it makes my face hurt thinking about it. I hope your recovering with good medication.

And I have to say, I'm also glad you avoided the whole metal nose thing.

Well, I did wonder but, since you had said you were gonna be gone, I decided to wait it out.

Does this mean we don't get to find out what happens to X?

I'm going to finish that story, but I decided it didn't matter to serialize it. (It's already done through whatever last Friday was.)

I wondered. When I didn't see you pop up on my reader for a couple days, I went to your site to make sure that it wasn't a technical glitch. Then I was concerned. I figured something had to be wrong for you to just disappear.

I'm glad you're okay now.

My step-chidren both had sinus surgery at the same time once. I remember it well because I had to carry them both upstairs once we got home. It was awful, as both were pretty chunky kids and were probably between 100 and 150 pounds per kid.

But I did it, thank goodness it was before I decided I don't actually need to be in good shape. I had an epiphany about that several years ago (it dawned on me that I might be in really awesome shape, but that I was spending hours every day exercising and eating horribly tasting things, and I decided it wasn't worth it, so I let myself go... now, 50 plus pounds later, I realize that I should have at least attempted to try a little bit not to kill myself with awesome food and no exercise... has been a fun ride though).

What was I talking about? I'm sure it was about me, as I tend to do that, use comments to really talk about myself, even if no on really sees the comment. I mean, you might see it, as you probably at least get a notification that I left you a comment, but I don't KNOW that you read it.

So really, it's just for me, I use your post as a jumping off point to talk about whatever I feel like, which today appears to be how amazingly strong I used to be because I carried kids up a few flights of stairs.

And that might not sound like such a big deal, but it was. I did it, barely even dropped them.

So, I'm double appreciative, as now I realize you took time out of FACE SURGERY to help me out with my personal problem. So, thanks! You're awesome.
