So the Madison Public Library one day had some information on how to do origami... (A Photo Essay)

And it turns out that origami is VERY hard to learn, except for "butterfly," which is super-easy, easy enough that you can make a LOT of them while you follow Mr F around and check in on Mr Bunches and in-between doing puzzles and reading books, and then you can go up to the top level and do some ART with them:

Were those hanging or were they dropped? Either way, it's cool, especially the one with all of them around Mr. Bunches.

They were thrown into the air, actually.

Actually, the crane isn't too bad. There are all sorts of instructions online. (I had one from years ago that I keep with my in my subbing bag--middle schoolers love it--but I can't find the link.)

If you think about it, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is just people origami. I can't fold paper, but I can fold a person into a very painful butterfly. One with broken arms and legs.

Or something like that. Those pictures are really cool, though.

Origami. I've always thought it was cool, but never tried it. Makes me wonder how many other things there are like that (cool but untried)....

That's pretty awesome. I always wanted to learn origami.
