Finally!...(Middle)

So for the last two years I have been writing a book. A young adult fiction book not based on anything in particular but a book that has made me proud. Today I finally finished it. I have been working hard to finish it but at the same time I didn't want to just end it and call it a day which is why it has taken so long for me to finish. I am hoping that I can publish it myself or perhaps send a copy to a publisher and have them publish it but let's just be real about this. I thought that I may include a little blurb from part two of the book just to give you a little idea of what the book is about...

“So?” Cooper asked. He seems nervous.

“We are having a baby.” I said.

“Are you serious?” Cooper leaned over and gave me a kiss and a hug.

“But…” I began.

“But what?”

“I want to make some things clear.”

“Okay. What things?” Cooper seemed a little nervous again.

“I am not as uppity about this like you are and I want to make sure that you understand that.” I said.

“I do understand that.”

“No I am not sure that you do. You are so excited about this and I am nervous and worried. I want you to respect the fact that it may take some time for me to get use to the idea of me becoming a mother at such a young age.”

“But you aren’t that young Scout. You’re almost seventeen.”

“Okay that is barely old enough to drive let alone bring a baby into this world. What I am trying to say is that I have always wanted to have a child I just never thought that I would be having a baby so young and unprepared. And I know that we are prepared financially but I need to make sure that I am prepared emotionally. And like I said it may take time and for that to happen I need you to be on my side. I need you to allow me to get to that point on my own and not be so happy and talking about it all the time.” Cooper was looking a little sad. “Don’t get me wrong Cooper I love that you are so excited about this but I will be to that point too. I am just not there right now. Who knows in a month I may be jumping from the roof tops excited and singing hallelujah. But right now I need to take this slow and be ready on my own.” Cooper didn’t say anything and that was making me a tad more than a little nervous.

That is just a small part of what is all to come when I finish editing...
