One Percent: Day Nineteen: Today its some sexy superheroes!

If Dennis Kucinich coming around to vote for ObamaCare doesn't get you to read up on the proposed health care reform, maybe a bevy of sexy superheroes will lure you into reading that the health care reform bill proposed will provide $40 billion in tax credits for small businesses to help pay for health insurance.

The bill would not require any employer to provide insurance, but would help pay the costs of those that do, and would impose surcharges on some employers if that employer opts not to provide coverage and the taxpayers end up paying the costs. (About that latter: a company that doesn't provide health insurance, and whose employees end up being taxpayer-funded liabilities, would have to pay a relatively nominal amount to defray the taxpayer costs.)

So remember, when lying foolish child-hating Republicans like Michele Bachmann tell you the health care reform will kill small businesses, well... they're lying, foolish child-hating Republicans who have sold their souls to insurance companies.

Michele Bachmann a child hater?

"The Bachmanns have five children, Lucas, Harrison, Elisa, Caroline, and Sophia. In addition, the Bachmanns have opened their home to 23 foster children, which has inspired Congresswoman Bachmann to become one of Congress’ leading advocates for foster and adopted children, earning her bipartisan praise for her efforts."

I bet she only adopted TWENTY-THREE children just to fatten them up and eat them. Honestly, just beacause someone doesn't have the same views as you doesn't make them foolish or a child-hater.

In 11 years, the Bachmann's "family farm" generated $251,000+ in federal subsidies: money she was paid by the federal government to help support here. That's from 1995-2006. For 6 of those years, Bachmann was a state representative earning a salary from the state. (She reported earning $34,000 for her salary on her 2006 financial statements, but would not disclose her spouse's salary from "Bachmann and Associates." (She reported earning anywhere from $600,000 to $1,250,000 from just two holdings in that same report.)

So she's not against taking federal money for HER purposes -- allowing a federal public option for farm subsidies that enriched her to the tune of a quarter-million -- when she already was earning over a million. Yet she rallied against a public option for health care proposals that would allow health insurance for the poor to be publicly funded -- or subsidized.

Since running for the house in 2006, Bachmann has raised $211,000 from insurance companies and $170,000 from other health interests.

Bachmann is a foolish, child-hater because she doesn't understand the health reform bill but is voting against it anyway, and has proposed nothing as an alternative: her proposal (to let people buy across state lines is about the only idea she's floated) doesn't address the uninsured and people who don't make $1.2 million a year plus $250,000 in farm subsidies and therefore can't afford insurance, and doesn't do anything to pay for health care for people like Mateo and McHale Shaw, who have hit their lifetime cap (at age four)and can't get new insurance because nobody covers pre-existing conditions.

Taking care of 23 foster kids (for a stipend) is admirable. Voting ignorantly and the way insurance companies tell you to vote is not.
